Kim Young Ae was an award-winning veteran South Korean actress. Born on April 21, 1951, she launched her career after participating in an open recruitment for one of the major television networks in 1971. After making her acting debut in the 1971 television drama “Chief Inspector,” she enjoyed a prolific career in films and television dramas. Some of her memorable recent roles included “The Moon Embracing the Sun” (2012), “Medical Top Team” (2013), “Liar Game” (2014), “Birth of a Beauty” (2014), “Kill Me, Heal Me” (2015), “Mirror of the Witch” (2016), “Doctors” (2016) and “Laurel Tree Tailors” (2016-2017), as well as the film “Proof of Innocence” (2016). Kim Young Ae passed away on April 9, 2017, at the age of 66 from recurrent pancreatic cancer.

Can a young royal physician change the fate of a cursed princess?

“Mirror of the Witch” is a 2016 South Korean drama series directed by Jo Hyun Tak. The series is inspired by the Mirror of Eastern Medicine (Dongui Bogam), a book compiled by the royal physician Heo Jun and published during the Joseon Dynasty and considered a classic in the study of Korean traditional medicine.

The brothers are forced to take to the road to search the entire country for their mother. Can this hot-tempered shaman and the rigidly straight-laced pastor put aside their religious differences for the time it takes them to track down their mother?

In 1978, Song Woo Seok (Song Kang Ho) was tired of dragging himself through his daily routine. Assuring Soon Ae that he’ll look into the matter, Woo Seok is appalled when he finds Jin Woo and his friends have been imprisoned and tortured under charges of sedition.

Determined to stand up for the rights of the oppressed, Woo Seok takes on Jin Woo’s case, but defending him against a repressive government won’t be easy. As Woo Seok takes up the mantle to fight for justice he begins to wonder, can any one man really change the world?

Inspired by real-life events, “The Attorney” is a 2013 courtroom drama film directed by Yang Woo Suk.
