Kim Sang Kyung is a South Korean actor. Born on June 1, 1972, he debuted as an actor in 1998 in the film “If the Sun Rises in the West” and in the television drama “Love and Success.” He has starred in many popular films and dramas since, including the films “Memories of Murder” (2003) and “May 18” (2007) and the dramas “King Sejong the Great” (2008), “Secret Agent Miss Oh” (2010), “White Christmas” (2011) and “What Happens to My Family?” (2014). Two of his Hong Sang Soo-directed films were screened at the Cannes Film Festival.

Once a royal physician, Yoo Se Poong (Kim Min Jae) was ousted from the palace after his involvement in a conspiracy surrounding the royal family. With nowhere else to go, Se Poong eventually found himself in the strange yet beautiful village of Gyesu. It was there he met Seo Eun Woo (Kim Hyang Gi) and Gye Ji Han (Kim Sang Kyung) and his life was changed forever.

With the help of his new friends, Se Poong began to grow as both a physician and a human. Learning how to not only treat the body but also the heart and minds of his patients, Se Poong successfully fulfilled his mission to become a true doctor. Or so he thought. With new patients and new challenges before him, Se Poong must once again set out on a quest to better both himself and the lives of those around him.

During the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910), Yoo Se Poong (Kim Min Jae) is a talented young physician who practices at the royal palace. But when he is implicated in a conspiracy that threatens the lives of the members of the royal family, he is driven from court. He eventually finds himself in a remote village community – a huge fall from grace for a man who had once occupied such a prestigious role.

When he intervenes to help heal a local, he finds his stay in the village becomes prolonged – more so than he would have liked. And as he does so, he attracts the attention of Gye Ji Han (Kim Sang Kyung), the middle-aged local doctor. Gye Ji Ha thinks that Yoo Se Poong could become an impeccable doctor if he could only develop a little more compassion and humanity – and decides to try to take the younger man under his wing. Yoo Se Poong also meets Seo Eun Woo (Kim Hyang Gi), a young widow. Despite the fact that she comes from a noble family, social convention dictates that Seo Eun Woo must remain faithful to her deceased husband for the rest of her life – much to her displeasure! What will become of this trio as they begin to spend more time in one another’s company?

"Poong, poong… who’s there?" 

The kingdom of Joseon is plagued by disorder, with violent political uprisings breaking out, and a power struggle surrounding the ruthless King Lee Hun (Yeo Jin Goo).

To avoid assassination attempts on the king's life, a clown named Ha Sun (Yeo Jin Goo), who happens to look exactly like the king, is brought to the palace to act as his double. As Ha Sun takes the throne and tricks the court into believing he truly is the king, he begins to fall for the beautiful Queen Yoo So Woon (Lee Se Young).

This series is an adaptation of the movie “Gwanghae: The Man Who Became King” (also known as “Masquerade”), starring Lee Byung Hun and Han Hyo Joo.

“The Crowned Clown” is a 2019 Korean drama series directed by Kim Hee Won.

Yoon Seol Hee (Kim Hee Ae) is a powerful businesswoman from a hugely wealthy family. One day, she dies very unexpectedly, and to add to the intrigue, the body vanishes from the morgue shortly after. Woo Jung Sik (Kim Sang Kyung), a once-brilliant but now ostensibly washed-up detective with a past shrouded in mystery is assigned to the case. Suspicion begins to fall on the woman’s widower Park Jin Han (Kim Kang Woo), a university professor who has been secretly having an affair with Hye Jin (Han Ji An), one of his students.

Although the evidence suggesting that Park Jin Han played a part in his wife’s death is at first very slim, Woo Jung Sik seems to have a hunch that the professor was somehow involved. As the investigation, the plot thickens – never more so than when Park Jin Han starts receiving text messages...from his “dead wife.”

This movie was based on the 2012 Spanish film “The Body.”
