About Lee Byung Hun: 
Arguably South Korea’s biggest international actor, Lee Byung Hun is both popular in Korea as well as Hollywood. He is the first Korean actor to break into the Western film industry and is one of only two Korean actors to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles in 2012. In addition, he became the first Korean actor to present an Oscar at the 88th Academy Awards in 2016.

Born July 12, 1970, Lee Byung Hun grew up as the son of a successful businessman. He dreamed of being an actor after a suggestion from a family friend and tried out for KBS in 1991. He graduated from Hanyang University with a major in French Literature, and went on to Graduate School in Chung Ang University for Theater and Cinematography.

In addition to being an actor, Lee Byung Hun also formed the talent management company BH Entertainment, which manages many popular actors including Han Hyo Joo, Go Soo and Han Ji Min. Lee Byung Hun married his wife, Korean actress Lee Min Jung, in August 2013 — nine years after they began dating briefly in 2006. The couple have one son together, born in 2015.

He made his Hollywood debut as Storm Shadow in “G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra” (2009) and went on to star in the hit movies “G.I. A massive earthquake turns the once-great city of Seoul, South Korea, into a heap of rubble. All modern services, including food supply, the police service, the financial system, and transportation, vanish in the blink of an eye. Every house in the city, it seems, has been destroyed – just as outdoor temperatures begin to fall. One single complex – the Imperial Palace Apartments – remains intact. For a while, the Imperial Palace residents think they are blessed. But it is not long before the rest of the city’s survivors learn of the fate of Imperial Palace…

When veteran police detective In Ho (Song Kang Ho) catches word that someone is making threats of terrorism against an impending flight, he wastes no time in beginning an investigation. A young girl’s destiny is with a sword.

Three mighty warriors, Deok Gi (Lee Byung Hun), Seol Rang (Jeon Do Yeon) and Poong Chun (Bae Soo Bin), lead an uprising to fight for freedom from an incompetent king. But at the last minute, Deok Gi betrays them, leading to Poong Chun’s death. Deok Gi tries to persuade Seol Rang to join his side, but she flees with Poong Chun’s baby daughter, Hong Ee.

Eighteen years later, Seol Rang goes by the name Wall So and is now blind and runs a tea house at the Byukran Port. She has been training Hong Ee, who now goes by the name Seol Hee (Kim Go Eun), to become a master of the sword so that she can avenge her father’s death.

Deok Gi now goes by the name Yoo Baek and has become a powerful military ruler. When he hosts a sword competition in the market, Seol Hee participates in the match. Her fight with master swordsman Yull (Lee Junho) catches Yoo Baek’s attention because of her similar sword style to Woll So. Yoo Baek sends his men after Seol Hee but she manages to escape.
