Nam Il Woo

Su Hong (Kim Dong Wook), a legal student killed during military service, returns as a vengeful spirit seeking justice. Guided by otherworldly guardians Hae Won Maek (Joo Ji Hoon), Lee Deok Choon (Kim Hyang Gi), and Gang Rim (Ha Jung Woo), he must pass trials to gain reincarnation. The underworld king (Lee Jung Jae) offers Su Hong a chance at rebirth, but with a challenging condition: the guardians must take the life of an elderly man protected by his household deity and grandson Sung Ju (Ma Dong Seok). As they pursue their mission, the guardians are unexpectedly drawn into their own past lives, complicating their quest. This is a 2018 South Korean movie directed by Kim Yong Hwa.

After Young Shin (Park So Dam), a high school student in Father Kim's (Kim Yun Seok) parish, is the victim of a hit-and-run incident, she begins exhibiting strange symptoms despite otherwise being in a coma. Father Kim believes she's possessed and decides to perform an exorcism, recruiting rebellious seminary student Choi (Gang Dong Won) for help after previous assistants fled. However, as they proceed with the ritual, the demon inside Young Shin fights back, revealing itself as an ancient, more powerful evil than previously thought. Can Father Kim and Deacon Choi complete the exorcism and save Young Shin, or is the evil simply too strong? This movie was based on the director's award-winning 2014 short film "12th Assistant Deacon."
