Moon Sung Geun is a South Korean actor and politician who was born in Tokyo, Japan, in 1953. He studied trading at Sogang University and initially began working in the world of business, before turning his hand to acting in the mid-1980s, appearing in a number of stage plays. He made his movie debut in 1990, starring in “Black Republic,” and went on to appear in a number of hit movies and drama titles. After a stint in politics in the late 2000s, he returned to acting, and recently appeared in drama titles such as “Confession” (2019) and “Nobody Knows” (2020).

Na Woo Soo (Nam Da Reum) is the very picture of high school perfection: He comes from a wealthy family, is outstandingly handsome, is every teacher’s favorite student at Seoul’s most prestigious high school, and unfailingly tops the class with his sky-high grades. Ye Jin Woo (Lee Dong Wook) works as a doctor in the Sangkook University Hospital’s emergency care department. He is well-liked and is known for his caring ways. He enjoys working at the hospital. But his world is shaken to the core on the day he hears that the hospital’s Director moved public funds intended for healthcare into his own bank account. Shortly after, the Director dies in mysterious circumstances, apparently suffering from a cardiac arrest and falling from his death – from the roof of the Vice-director’s apartment block!

The Director is replaced by the aloof and ambitious Koo Seung Hyo (Cho Seung Woo). Koo Seung Hyo appears to be completely motivated by ensuring the hospital becomes as profitable as possible. He plans to transfer the emergency care department, along with other loss-making wings, to another healthcare facility. But the plan proves deeply unpopular, causing problems for doctors, including junior pediatrician Lee No Eul (Won Jin Ah). And things start to get even worse for him when the issue of cover-ups concerning patients’ deaths starts to become pressing. Jong Su (Yoo Ah In) is a quiet introvert with a life full of sadness. His father has been charged with violent assault. His mother, who abandoned the family when Jong Su was still very young, occasionally returns – but only to ask him for money. And his once semi-rural neighborhood is in the process of being urbanized.

One day, he runs into a long-lost childhood friend named Hae Mi (Jeon Jong Seo). The two get to talking and rekindle their friendship. This friendship then turns romantic, but it may not last long, as she tells him that she is heading off to Africa to travel. Jong Su hopes that they will stay in touch. But when she returns, she does so in the company of Ben (Steven Yeun), an affluent, Porsche-driving big-city type who appears to have won Hae Mi’s heart.

However, Ben is a man of mystery, and one day confesses to Jong Su that he has a dangerous hobby: arson. He, and Hae Mi, then promptly disappear, leaving Jong Su eager to track them down – before Hae Mi’s passion for him quells, and Ben’s frightening pastime gets out of hand…
