Kwon Sang Woo is a popular South Korean actor who has been cited as the most visible example of the “mom-zzang” movement, which credits people with a “great body.” Born on August 5, 1976, Kwon Sang Woo started his career as a model and broke into acting with the 2001 television drama “Delicious Proposal” before landing his first leading role in the 2002 comedy “Make It Big.” He has since starred in many popular films and television dramas, including “Queen of Ambition” (2013), “Medical Top Team” (2013), “Temptation” (2014), “Queen of Mystery” (2017) and “Queen of Mystery 2” (2018). Kwon Sang Woo has even branched out into making a few popular films in China with major stars like Cecilia Cheung and Jackie Chan. In addition to his acting career, Kwon Sang Woo is involved in a number of business ventures, including establishing a cosmetics firm Natural Tears in 2009, opening up a café in Myeong-dong, and being the biggest shareholder of the resort Ocean Blue Hotel Bali. Kwon Sang Woo married Song Tae Young, an actress and former Miss Korea, in 2008, and they have two children.

“Curtain Call” Previews Tense Love Between Between Ha Ji Won And Kwon Sang Woo

Ja Geum Soon (Go Doo Shim) was born in 1930 in what is now North Korea. When the Korean War broke out in the 1950s, she escaped to what is now South Korea – and was torn away from her husband and young child. She dreamed of being reunited with them, so she founded a hotel that she hoped would become a metaphorical lighthouse – and bring her lost family back to her. This hotel became the successful Nakwon hotel chain.

Now, Ja Geum Soon is approaching the end of her life, and she dreams of being reunited with the grandson she has never met: Im Moon Sung. Her ever-faithful assistant Jung Sang Cheol (Sung Dong Il) hatches a plan to help bring peace to the old woman before she dies – he will hire an actor to pose as Im Moon Sung. He seeks out Yoo Jae Heon (Kang Ha Neul), a struggling stage actor who has been playing a North Korean soldier in a theater performance. Yoo Jae Heon agrees. He is told to pose as a defector who has come to visit the old woman for a while before attempting to return to the North. However, it soon appears that he has bitten off more than he can chew. He also crosses paths with Park Se Yeon (Ha Ji Won), Ja Geum Soon’s granddaughter – the woman who is running Nakwon...and has vowed not to allow it to fall into anyone else’s hands!
