Jo Jin Woong is the stage name of Jo Won Joon, a South Korean actor. Born on March 3, 1976, he made his acting debut in theater before appearing in the 2004 film “Once Upon a Time in High School.” He has enjoyed a prolific career in both films and television since then and is best known for his roles in the films “Deep Rooted Tree” (2011), “Nameless Gangster: Rules of the Time” (2012), “A Hard Day” (2014) and the television series “Signal” (2016).

With grand dreams and driving ambition, Jeon Hae Woong (Jo Jin Woong) has spent years climbing his way to the top of Busan’s political world. When his informant is brutally murdered, police officer Won Ho (Jo Jin Woong) vows to find the killer.

He meets a woman named Oh Yeon Ok (Kim Sun Ryung), who tells him that the man behind the murder is a mysterious drug cartel boss known in the underworld as “Mr. Lee.”

She goes on to explain that Mr. Lee is one of the most dangerous people in the world, and says that he is known to guard his identity carefully.

This same Mr. Lee, she adds, attempted to kill her by blowing up a building. Won Ho visits the scene of the crime and finds a man he believes to be a member of Mr. Lee’s gang – a man named Rak (Ryu Jun Yeol).

Rak agrees to help Won Ho after the latter hatches a plan to set up a drug deal that will hopefully flush Mr. Lee out into the open.

But tracking down the “real” Mr. Lee becomes harder than Won Ho initially thought – as several crooks have already begun using Mr. Lee’s alias to conduct their own nefarious deals.

Can Won Ho discover the identity of the country’s most infamous drug lord?

“The Outlaws” is a 2017 South Korean film directed by Kang Yoon Sung. The film is based on real events that occurred in 2007 that has been dubbed the “Heuksapa Incident” where a local gang engaged in a turf battle with the Heuksapa Chinese gang from Yanbian, China.

He searches around and finds a walkie-talkie with the voice of police detective Lee Jae Han (Cho Jin Woong) talking to him. But Jae Han is from decades into the past, and he is investigating the murder of Hae Young’s friend Yoon Jung. Cha Soo Hyun (Kim Hye Soo) was a rookie during Jae Han’s time and is now an experienced police detective. Can this unexpected trio help each other solve cold cases from the past by communicating through the walkie-talkie? “Signal” is a 2016 South Korean drama series directed by Kim Won Suk. The series is based on a real-life crime spree that took place between 1986 and 1991 where 10 women were raped and murdered in the same geographic area in South Korea. The 2003 film “Memories of Murder” and the 2014 television drama “Gap Dong” also were based on the same events.

The Japanese send government sends contract killers Hawaii Pistol (Ha Jung Woo) and his partner Buddy (Oh Dal Soo) after Ok Yoon and her men. But can Ok Yoon carry out her mission when there is a traitor among them?

In a South Korean village in the early 1950s, in the immediate aftermath of the Korean War, a tradition has developed – many males in the village prove their worth by selling their blood. “Chronicle of a Blood Merchant” is a 2015 South Korean movie that was adapted for the screen and directed by Ha Jung Woo.

But because his mother was a concubine, Jo Yoon’s illegitimacy gives him no standing in society or his family.

Jo Yoon hires Dolmuchi to kill the pregnant wife of his dead stepbrother so that he can become a legitimate heir, but when Dolmuchi is not able to go through with the killing, Jo Yoon has Dolmuchi’s family killed instead.

The devastated Dolmuchi takes on the name Dochi and joins Ttaeng Choo (Lee Kyung Young) and Dae Ho (Lee Sung Min) in a band of outlaws known as Kundo. The bandits go after wealthy tyrants who prey on the poor by stealing from the rich and giving back to the poor. But can Dochi avenge his family’s death when he comes face-to-face with Jo Yoon again?

Lee Do is the third son of King Taejong of the Joseon dynasty. He becomes Sejong the Great, a well-known king with brilliance, but he is deeply traumatized as he has seen massacres committed by his father since he was young. Chae Yoon comes from a family of slaves, but he has become an officer working in the Royal Guards. He thinks his father died because of Lee Do and plans to take revenge on him. So Yi is the court maid that Lee Do's son loves. Although aphasic, she is smart, insightful, and passionate about creating the Korean alphabet. Ki Joon earns Lee Do's trust and gets involved in his project to create the Korean alphabet, but he secretly plans to stab Lee Do in the back. With all these people entangled with each other, serial murders happen at the palace, and the project to create the Korean alphabet doesn't go smoothly.
