Go Doo Shim is a celebrated veteran South Korean actress who has enjoyed a prolific career in film, television, theater and radio. Born on May 22, 1951, she made her acting debut in the 1972 television series “Chief Inspector” and is known for playing the tirelessly devoted mother figure in many of her works. Go Doo Shim has won the Grand Prize (Daesang), the top award in acting, a record number of six times for her roles in the television dramas “Fetters of Love” (1989), “The Dancing Gayageum” (1990), “My Husband’s Woman” (1992), “Virtue” (2000), “Ode to the Han River” (2004) and “More Beautiful Than a Flower” (2004). Some of her recent memorable roles include “Immortal Classic” (2012), “Marry Him If You Dare” (2013), “A Word From Warm Heart” (2013), “The Legendary Witch” (2014), “High Society” (2015), “The Eccentric Daughter-in-Law” (2015) and “All About My Mom” (2015).

Ja Geum Soon (Go Doo Shim) was born in 1930 in what is now North Korea. Now, Ja Geum Soon is approaching the end of her life, and she dreams of being reunited with the grandson she has never met: Im Moon Sung. He is told to pose as a defector who has come to visit the old woman for a while before attempting to return to the North. However, it soon appears that he has bitten off more than he can chew. He also crosses paths with Park Se Yeon (Ha Ji Won), Ja Geum Soon’s granddaughter – the woman who is running Nakwon...and has vowed not to allow it to fall into anyone else’s hands!
