Byun Hee Bong, born Byun In Chul, is an award-winning South Korean actor. He was born on June 8, 1942 in Jangseong County, South Jeolla Province, South Korea and made his acting debut in 1970. His willingness to take on television drama roles that didn’t quite fit mainstream Korean society earned him a cult following in the 1970s. He transitioned to film in the early 1980s and has continued to work in both film and television ever since, including “My Girl” (2005), “Behind the White Tower” (2007), “Master of Study” (2010), and “Pinocchio” (2014). The winner of multiple awards, including those for Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, and several popularity awards, he is widely regarded as one of the most memorable actors of his time.
