Rain is the stage name of Jung Ji Hoon, a popular South Korean singer-songwriter, record producer and actor who is well known in Hollywood as well as throughout Asia. Rain made his music debut in 1998 at the age of 16 with the boy band Fanclub. He made his music solo debut in 2002 and his acting debut in 2003 in the Korean drama “Sang Doo! Let’s Go to School.” He rose to fame when he starred in the 2004 hit drama “Full House,” which brought him the Best Actor Award at the 2004 KBS Drama Awards. Rain’s fame expanded to the United States in 2006 with several sold-out shows in Madison Square Garden and Las Vegas. He was included in People magazine’s “Most Beautiful People” issue in 2007. He appeared in the Hollywood films “Speed Racer” in 2008 and in 2009’s “Ninja Assassin,” for which he received the Biggest Badass Award at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards. He also starred in the 2014 gangster film “The Prince” with Bruce Willis, John Cusack and Jason Patric. His recent drama credits include “She’s So Lovable” (2014), “Please Come Back, Mister” (2016) and the Chinese drama “Diamond Lover” (2015).

Cha Young Min (Rain) is an extremely arrogant but gifted thoracic surgeon. Although he is supremely talented in his field of medicine, he is full of himself and aloof. He cares about nothing except furthering his career, alienating everyone around him – including his ex-girlfriend, the neurosurgeon Jang Se Jin (Uee). His polar opposite is a resident surgeon named Go Seung Tak (Kim Bum) – a man who has risen to a lofty place in the medical world due only to the fact that his grandfather happens to be the founder of one of the country’s top hospitals.

But when a strange medical case takes an unexpected turn, Cha Young Min’s spirit somehow possesses Go Seung Tak’s body – suddenly gifting the latter with extraordinary medical skills. Sharing his dream with his siblings, his younger brother decides to help Bok Dong turn his dream into a reality by using his school tuition money to buy the bicycle. After facing the wrath of his furious father, Bok Dong has no choice but to find a way to pay his brother back. Leaving his small town, he travels to Seoul, where he soon comes across an advertisement for an upcoming bicycle competition organized by the Japanese Government General of Korea. Enticed by the prize money, Bok Dong enters the race. Competing against Japanese and Korean participants alike, Bok Dong beats them all, taking home the title of champion, as well as the prize money. A month later, he wins his second race and becomes a national hero overnight.

Raising the spirits of his fellow countrymen, in a time of Japanese colonial rule, Bok Dong’s string of victories bring with them a glimmer of hope; but not everyone is pleased with Bok Dong’s success. Desperate to put an end to Bok Dong’s winning streak, the Japanese referees are willing to do anything; but will their efforts be enough to stop this hero of the people?
