As a child in 1970s Korea, Seo In Ae (Hwang Jung Eum) had the misfortune to witness her mother’s murder. While being raised by her aunt, In Ae vowed to avenge her mother’s death and help others seeking justice. She grew close to brothers Han Kwang Hoon (Ryu Soo Young) and Kwang Cheol (Jung Kyung Ho), the sons of a poor fisherman. In Ae and Kwang Hoon share a mutual romantic interest, but their lives consistently take them in different directions. However, Kwang Cheol also loves In Ae, despite knowing about his brother's interest. Kim Woo Hyun (So Ji Sub), the only son of a high-ranking police officer, breezed his way through the police academy and graduated with top honors. After being assigned to the cyber investigation department, Woo Hyun finds himself entangled in a hunt for a hacker named Hades. When Woo Hyun finally tracks Hades down to a physical location after suspicions that Hades was involved in a murder, he’s shocked to find that Hades is actually his old roommate from the police academy, Ki Young (also played by So Ji Sub), but Ki Young swears that he’s innocent. Woo Hyun and Hades face off in an abandoned factory – but an explosion leaves one of them dead, and the other assumes the identity of “Woo Hyun.” Alongside fellow detective Kang Mi (Lee Yeon Hee), “Woo Hyun” must discover the truth in order to ensure justice is appropriately served.
