Bae Yong Joon is an award-winning South Korean actor and businessman. He was born on August 29, 1972 in Seoul, South Korea and made his acting debut in 1994 and kept active through 2017. During that time, he took parts in various films and television dramas, including “Hotelier” (2001), “April Snow” (2005), “Dream High” (2011), and “King of Dramas” (2012). Though now retired from acting, he remains active as chairman of the management agency KeyEast.

Teenager Go Hye Mi (Bae Suzy) dreamed of attending Julliard and becoming a classical singer, but after her wealthy father goes bankrupt and runs away to avoid loan sharks, she’s left behind to handle his affairs. A debt collector suggests that she attend Kirin Arts High, where students train in the hopes of becoming K-pop idols, become a singer, and use the money from album sales to repay her father’s debts. Hye Mi finds the idea distasteful, but agrees when the debt collector threatens to force her younger sister into work instead. After auditioning for Kirin, Hye Mi encounters students like aspiring dancer Jin Guk (Taecyeon), Kim Pil Sook (IU), and more, who help her broaden her horizons and learn more about music and performing.
