After graduating as a top student from one of the nation’s most prestigious universities, Shen Hui Xing (Bai Bai He) could have had her pick of careers. But after marrying Sheng Jiang Chuan (Tong Da Wei), she decided to put her work ambitions aside and focus her attention on her young family. With a daughter to care for and a household to run, Hui Xing has spent many years now as a full-time mom but has recently begun to feel her time as a housewife is quickly coming to an end.

With her daughter older and her husband more focused on work than his family, Hui Xing has decided the time for her to re-enter the workforce has come. An Di (Liu Tao) is a successful business woman who has returned to China after studying in New York to find her younger brother. Qu Xiao Xiao (Wang Zi Wen) is only 25 but already owns her own small business. Fang Sheng Mei (Jiang Xin) grew up in poverty but has shed her “Princess of the Streets” background to work for a multinational company. Qiu Ying Ying (Yang Zi) is a 20-year-old small-town girl who is trying to make it in the big city. Tan Zong Ming (Jin Dong) is An Di’s boss who has been friend-zoned by her despite knowing her since their school days.

It is a 2005 television series adaptation of the Taiwanese role-playing game “The Legend of Sword and Fairy.” It was followed in 2009 by the sequel “Chinese Paladin 3,” which takes place 50 years earlier in chronological history. There was no “Chinese Paladin 2.”
