Tong Da Wei is a Chinese actor and singer. Born on February 3, 1979, he always wanted to be a police officer because both of his parents worked for the police force. But after he graduated from high school, Tong Da Wei joined the Shanghai Theater Academy in 1997 and graduated with an acting degree in 2001. During college, he made his acting debut in the television series “Brother’s Wife” and appeared in many other series before he graduated. He achieved mainstream fame in the 2002 movie “I Love You.” He has starred in many popular films and television series since, including “Struggle” (2007), “Lost in Beijing” (2007), “Longmen Express” (2013) and “Think Before You Marry” (2015) and “Love Actually” (2017). Tong Da Wei has worked with many celebrated directors, including John Woo for the 2008 film “Red Cliff: Part II” and Zhang Yimou for the 2011 film “The Flowers of War” with co-star Christian Bale. Tong Da Wei married actress Guan Yue in 2008.
