The leader of the Shao Yang clan hosts a magic and martial arts tournament for young apprentices. His daughter Chu Xuan Ji (Crystal Yuan), who has been deprived of the use of her senses, has been entered in the competition – even though her skills are far from advanced.

Also taking part in the competition is the Lize Palace’s star student Yu Si Feng (Cheng Yi).

Students are forbidden from embarking on romantic relationships with one another. But when the two meet, they first become firm friends…and then start to develop much deeper feelings for one another.

After a dispute between other students, Chu Xuan Ji is injured and the two young students become separated.

To make matters worse, Yu Si Feng is cursed with a spell that forces him to wear a mask that will only fall away if he can find true love.

But four years later, their paths cross again – and the duo slowly begins to learn that their pasts (as well as their futures) may well be intertwined, with heavenly forces very interested in their fate.

This series was adapted from a novel named “The Glass Maiden,” which was written by Shi Si Lang.

The year is 1941 and East Asia is being torn apart by war – on land, at sea, and in the air. Imperial Japanese forces have occupied Hong Kong and work with native collaborators in a bid to impose strict Japanese martial law.

Into this lethal fray steps a young man named Ye Chong (Allen Ren) a fierce patriot and a devoted communist. Recruited by Chinese communist forces, he agrees to go undercover as a double agent.

His role will be to infiltrate the collaborators who are helping Japan tighten its grip on Hong Kong. The role involves becoming the “Autumn Cicada,” a spy who will relay information back to his communist comrades who are still plotting to throw off the Japanese yoke.

The role is perilous, and beset with danger at every turn. When Japanese intelligence officers learn that a mole has infiltrated the military ranks, a deadly hunt begins – in an effort to expose, capture, and torture the Autumn Cicada.

Fortunately, a handful of sympathetic freedom fighters is ready to help Ye Chong complete his mission – including the beautiful He Ying (Li Man).

Taking in the Blood Demon’s orphaned daughter, Shu Jingrong (Crystal Yuan), Bai Di raises her as his own. Trained alongside her master’s disciples, Qinglan (Han Cheng Yu), Qingyu (Zhao Dong Ze), Xiao Yiqing (Qin Jun Jie), Jingrong grows into a skilled master of Wulin. Though peace may reign for a time, tragedy is never far away. When disaster strikes, Jingrong discovers she is cursed with misfortune and becomes overwhelmed by guilt. 

But guilt won’t hold her down for long. Taking up her father’s Blood Rose Sword, Jingrong joins heart and hands with Listening Snow Tower’s young master, Xiao Yiqing, fighting together against the spreading evil of the Bai Yue Sect, until they draw their final breaths.

Based on the novel by Cang Yue, “Listening Snow Tower” is a 2019 action romance drama directed by Yin Tao.

Can a great Taoist warrior protect the heavens from evil spirits? It is based on the classic novel “Fengshen Yanyi” by Xu Zhong Lin and Lu Xi Xing. The sequel “The Investiture of the Gods II” originally aired in 2015.
