Zhang Jia Yi is a Chinese actor who was born on April 8, 1970, in Xi’an, China. He made his acting debut in 1990, a year before graduating from the Beijing Film Academy. He has since gone on to appear in over 100 movies and drama series titles, including the landmark drama title “Dwelling Narrowness” in 2009. His movie credits include “Chongqing Blues” (2010), “I Am Not Madame Bovary” (2016), and “My People, My Country” (2019).

In a compilation of seven short films, seven directors explore the history of modern China and its people, going back to the 1940s and the aftermath of World War II, on the eve of the birth of the People’s Republic of China, through to the 1960s, the 1980s, the 1990s, and finally the 2010s, with stars like Song Jia and Ou Hao making appearances.

The first film focuses on an engineer struggling to organize a ceremony to mark the birth of the nation and the second tells the story of a love-sick nuclear scientist. In the third film, a young boy does what he can to help his neighborhood watch the gold medal match of the women’s volleyball competition in the 1984 Olympic Games.

The remaining films focus on more recent events, including two groups of people preparing for the handover of Hong Kong by the British colonial government in 1997. There is another Olympic story in a film about events surrounding the 2008 Olympics, which were held in Beijing, as a taxi driver decides to gift a ticket he had bought for his own son to another boy.

In the sixth film, two homeless boys watch a spectacular space mission in the 2010s. And in the final film, a female air force pilot attempts to ensure that a military parade to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second Sino-Japanese War goes off without a hitch

“My People, My Country” is a 2019 Chinese movie that was directed by Chen Kai Ge,&nbsp;Zhang Yi Bai,&nbsp;Guan Hu,&nbsp;Xue Xiao Lu,&nbsp;Xu Zheng,&nbsp;Ning Hao, and Wen Mu Ye.

Heir to the nomadic Northern Qingyang tribe, Lu Gui Chen (Liu Hao Ran), is a hostage in the Eastern Land. During his time there, he meets Ji Ye (Chen Ruo Xuan), an illegitimate and unloved son who came to the Eastern Land to train as a warrior, and Yu Ran (Song Zu Er), the princess of the Winged Tribe who traveled to the Eastern Land as a refugee with her grandfather.

Living in such a tumultuous time, this trio of strangers are forced to work together to overcome a string of challenges. As time passes, this intrepid trio becomes fast friends but as is often the case in circumstances such as these, both young men slowly begin to develop feelings for Yu Ran. 

As Lu Gui Chen and Ji Ye struggle with their growing feelings, a much greater struggle begins to brew in the Eastern Lands. The powerful warlord, Ying Wu Yi (Zhang Feng Yi) has been stirring up trouble against the Emperor and war is coming.

Unable to ignore the trouble around them, Lu Gui Chen, Ji Ye, and Yu Ran join the battle against Ying Wu Yi at the Shangyang Pass but what awaits them will set them down a path that will change each of their lives forever.

A thrilling fantasy adventure directed by Zhang Xiao Bo, “Novoland: Eagle Flag” is the fifth installment in the “Novoland” saga and is based on the book of the same name, written by Jiang Nan.
