Kevin Cheng is an American-born actor and singer of Chinese descent who is active in Hong Kong. He was born on August 15, 1969, in San Francisco, California, but moved to Hong Kong at a young age. Kevin Cheng’s mother sent him back to the United States for two years while he was in high school and he ended up graduating high school in Canada. He attended California State University in Los Angeles, but he did not graduate because he moved back to Hong Kong after his father died to be with his mother. After his return to Hong Kong, Kevin Cheng signed on with a record company and released his first album in 1993, winning several Best New Artist awards in 1994. Kevin Cheng also broke into the Taiwanese entertainment industry by releasing several Mandarin albums and starring in some television dramas. He appeared in his first starring role in the 2004 Hong Kong television drama “Hard Fate” and also gained fame for his roles in “Under the Canopy of Love” (2006), “The Ultimate Crime Fighter” (2007), “Forensic Heroes II” (2008), “Burning Flame III” (2009), “Beyond the Realm of Conscience” (2009), “Startling by Each Step” (2010), “Ghetto Justice” (2011) and “Ghetto Justice II” (2012).
