Niki Chow, also known as Chow Lai Kei, is a Hong Kong actress and singer who was born in Hong Kong on August 30, 1979. She debuted in the 2001 movie “Feel 100% II” and has since gone on to appear in scores of hit movies and dramas. She scored a hit in 2006 with a role in the drama “Under the Canopy of Love.” Some of her more recent drama roles include “Another Era” (2018) and “Blooming Days” (2023).

Luo Qing Lian (He Hong Shan) is an ordinary, unassuming woman who wants to live a quiet life and marry a man who will love her and stay true to her. But fate has other plans – due to the fact that she bears a strong resemblance to a deceased former royal concubine. This leads to her being taken to court and forced to become the maid and concubine to the King’s third son, He Lian Xin (Peter Ho).

Luo Qing Lian wants to escape. To her, He Lian Xin seems dry, aloof, and insensitive to most people. Some would even describe him as heartless. But underneath this frosty exterior, he has a much more tender side. He genuinely wants to help the people of the realm to live happier lives, even if that means going against the wishes of other members of his family.
