Sammi Cheng is a Hong Kong-born singer and actress who was born on August 19, 1972. She began her career in the late 1980s while aged only 16 – placing third in the New Talent Singing Awards, later going on to release three studio albums while still in her teens. She began acting in the drama series “A Life of His Own” in 1991 and went on to become one of the biggest names in Hong Kong contemporary music, earning the title “The Queen of Cantopop.” Her movie credits include “Summer Holiday” (2000), “Infernal Affairs III” (2003), and “Triumph in the Skies” (2015).
