The year is 1993, and Yeung Kwong Yiu (William Chan) is a senior inspector in the major crimes unit investigating a serial murder case. However, a mysterious turn of events transports him 25 years into the future to 2018, where he learns that his wife and daughter are missing, and the case he was working on still remains unsolved. With the help of his former superior, Kwong Yiu assumes a new identity, re-enters the police force, and partners with officer Chan Hoi Ching (Cya Liu). As new murders emerge in 2018 with eerie similarities to the past, Kwong Yiu discovers a deeper conspiracy at play and devastating truths about his family. Infamous thief Dan Cheung (Andy Lau) is caught and imprisoned after a heist goes wrong. When he receives new information about a job to steal precious jewels in Europe, he calls up his longtime partner Po Chen&nbsp;(Tony Yang), and new recruit to Red Ye (Shu Qi) to get the job done. Unable to resist the offer, they go in for the high-stakes heist. 

Unfortunately for them, famous French detective Pierre (Jean Reno), who has followed Cheung before, is still hot on their trail and starts a new game of cat and mouse across Europe.
