Jackson Wang is a Hong Kong rapper, singer, actor and host who is active in South Korea. Born on March 28, 1994, he is best known as a member of the K-pop boy band GOT7. Prior to his entertainment career, Jackson was a former national fencer with the Hong Kong fencing team who won first place in the Asian Junior and Cadet Fencing Championship in 2011. When Jackson was first scouted by a Korean talent agency in 2010, his parents only gave their permission on the condition that he become the best fencer in Asia. After winning the championship in 2011, Jackson went to Korea to become a trainee, and he trained for two and a half years before his debut with GOT7 in 2013. In addition to his music activities, Jackson has become a popular guest on Korean variety and reality shows and an MC of popular music shows. In 2015, he made a couple of appearances in memorable cameo roles in television dramas and became a permanent host of the music program “SBS Inki Gayo.”
