Chitrangada, born to an army family, studied in Delhi before beginning her career there. After modelling and performing in music videos, Chitrangada made a well-acknowledged debut in the 2005 film Hazaroon Khwaishein Aisi. Among her several films, Chitrangada also played a part in the film Desi Boyz alongside Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, and John Abraham. Chitrangada is also the brand ambassador for several well known companies. She married golfer Jyoti Singh Randhawa in 2001. Chitrangada and her husband separated in 2013 and then formally got divorced in April 2014. The couple has a son named Zorawar; his custody has been granted to Chitrangada.
