Shownu, or Son Hyun Woo, as he’s also known, is a South Korean singer and dancer. He was born in Changdong, Donbonggu, Seoul on June 18, 1992. A former trainee under JYP Entertainment, he worked as a backup dancer before signing with his current label, Starship Entertainment. Not long after signing with Starship, he began making appearances in various music videos and soon joined the short-lived boy group, NUBOYZ. In 2015 he participated in the hit reality survival show, “No Mercy”, his ranking securing his position in the idol group, MONSTA X. As leader of the incredibly popular group, he has made a few guest appearances in television dramas and has appeared in numerous variety shows, including “The Master Key” (2017), “The Real Men 300” (2018), and “My Little Television 2” (2019).
