Dong Jie is a Chinese actress. Born on April 19, 1980, she made her acting debut in Zhang Yimou’s 2000 film “Happy Times.” She went on to star in the 2003 television “Story of a Noble Family,” which is still considered one of her most memorable roles. Dong Jie has starred in many popular films and television dramas since, including the recent “Secrets of the Three Kingdoms” (2018) and “Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace” (2018).

In the late 1980s, Ding Bi Yun (Dong Jie) is a single mother struggling against poverty and trying to raise her infant son in a small town in China’s Jiangsu Province.
