Red Velvet is a South Korean girl group that debuted in 2014 with the single “Happiness.” The group was formed by talent agency SM Entertainment and has enjoyed considerable chart success, scooping the Golden Disc New Artist Award in 2015 and the Mnet Asian Music Awards prize for Best Female Group in 2017. The group began as a four-piece, with founding members Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, and Joy. a fifth member, Yeri, joined in 2015. Red Velvet has appeared on numerous TV programs, including “Level Up Project!” (2017-2018) and the “2019 Idol Star Athletics Championships – Chuseok Special.”
