In modern-day South Korea, a supernatural alien named Guard (Kim Woo Bin) and a flying robot sidekick named Thunder manage prisoners who are “locked” into human bodies and brains. They are now on a quest to thwart a group of evil aliens to escape their human forms. Meanwhile, back in the year 1391, a bounty hunter and Taoist magician named Muruk (Ryu Jun Yeol) is on his own quest for a powerful sword known as the Divine Blade, as is a young pistol-wielding woman named Ean (Kim Tae Ri). Both hope to swap the sword for a massive reward, as do a host of other rival opportunistic bounty hunters...

Things get a little complicated, however, when the appearance of a spacecraft in both Guard’s time and that of Muruk and Ean appears to open up a portal between the two times. All of a sudden, Guard and his companions find themselves catapulted back into the past, and confronted with someone from his own past! The race to find the Divine Blade is really heating up now, with the evil alien mastermind ready to play a decisive card. Can the forces of good beat their evil foes in a final, chaotic showdown?

Under the rule of King Sejong the Great (Han Suk Kyu), the Joseon Dynasty flourished as scientific advancements and technological developments served to better the lives of the people. Honoring those who made scientific progress, the King sought out the greatest minds in Joseon, celebrating the advancements they made in agriculture, astrology, medicine, and more. With an insatiable thirst for knowledge and a mind inclined to think outside the box, it was only a matter of time before he crossed paths with the brilliant Jang Yeong Sik (Choi Min Sik).&nbsp;

Born a slave, Jang Yeong Sik had no claims to greatness, but his astounding mind and impressive talents eventually earned him a position within the local government. Finding a kindred spirit in Yeong Sik, King Sejong gives the low-born man a position as his science advisor, and together they make great strides in the scientific world. As time passes, their love of scientific research and invention leads them to form an unusual and completely unprecedented friendship.

But the technological advances they make for Joseon catch the eye of the Ming Empire. Wary of Joseon becoming too great, the Chinese Emperor orders an immediate cessation of astrological study and demands that Jang Yeong Sik be handed over at once. Forced to make a terrible choice, King Sejong must decide between the friend he cherishes or the people he was born to protect.

Based on actual events, “Forbidden Dream” is a 2019 historical drama film directed by Hur Jin Ho.

A group of 30-year-old female friends works in the entertainment business – Im Jin Joo (Chun Woo Hee), Lee Eun Jung (Jeon Yeo Been), and Hwang Han Joo (Han Ji Eun) – but each one finds herself operating in a very different set of circumstances.

Im Jin Joo is a scriptwriter for TV drama series. Her literary dreams often encroach on her writing, and her quirky personality often involves her speaking to inanimate objects.

Meanwhile, Hwang Han Joo heads the marketing department of a production company and struggles to keep up with her work – due in no small part to the ceaseless pressures of motherhood.

And Lee Eun Jung runs a one-woman documentary production company.

Life begins to change for the trio, and one of Lee Eun Jung becomes a surprise runaway success, catapulting her into the public spotlight.

Love appears to be on the card for the friends, too. Im Jin Joo finds herself strangely drawn to Son Beom Soo (Ahn Jae Hong),&nbsp;a drama producer who has recently split up with his&nbsp;girlfriend.

And Hwang Han Joo’s head is turned when new employee Chu Jae Hoon (Gong Myung) joins her marketing team.

How will the friends’ lives develop as their careers take different paths and romance blooms – and what does the future have in store for them?
