He Fei (Zhu Yi Long) and his wife, Li Mu Zi (Huang Zi Qi) are celebrating their first marriage anniversary at a resort in Southeast Asia. The happy occasion quickly turns chilling when Mu Zi goes missing and the local police refuse to investigate, believing there isn't enough evidence of a crime, which leaves He Fei furious. However, He Fei wakes up one morning to find a strange woman next to him, claiming to be his wife! Suspecting that something strange is going on, He Fei hires successful attorney Chen Mai (Ni Ni) to help him figure out the truth behind Mu Zi's disappearance. As layers of mysteries unfold, everyone realizes that absolutely nothing is as it seems. This is a 2022 Chinese film directed by Cui Rui and Liu Xiang, adapted from Alexey Korenev's film "A Trap for Lonely Man."

In a compilation of seven short films, seven directors explore the history of modern China and its people, going back to the 1940s and the aftermath of World War II, on the eve of the birth of the People’s Republic of China, through to the 1960s, the 1980s, the 1990s, and finally the 2010s, with stars like Song Jia and Ou Hao making appearances.

The first film focuses on an engineer struggling to organize a ceremony to mark the birth of the nation and the second tells the story of a love-sick nuclear scientist. In the third film, a young boy does what he can to help his neighborhood watch the gold medal match of the women’s volleyball competition in the 1984 Olympic Games.

The remaining films focus on more recent events, including two groups of people preparing for the handover of Hong Kong by the British colonial government in 1997. There is another Olympic story in a film about events surrounding the 2008 Olympics, which were held in Beijing, as a taxi driver decides to gift a ticket he had bought for his own son to another boy.

In the sixth film, two homeless boys watch a spectacular space mission in the 2010s. And in the final film, a female air force pilot attempts to ensure that a military parade to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second Sino-Japanese War goes off without a hitch

It is May 14, 2018, and 100 or so passengers are aboard Airbus flight A319 from Chongqing to Lhasa, Tibet. The aircraft suffers a major blow when the cockpit’s windshield cracks. The pilots radio air traffic control to report on their perilous situation. But then the unthinkable happens – the glass shatters, sending the pressure spiraling throughout the aircraft. The passengers panic, and one of the pilot team is taken out of action, leaving the former air force ace-turned steely nerved veteran captain Liu Chang Jian (Zhang Han Yu) to find a solution to the problem, along with his first mate Liang Dong (Du Jiang). The plane plummets almost 2.5km, and the captain manages to intervene just in time, but the really tough flying is only just getting started.

The aircraft is flying above the Tibetan Himalayas, oxygen reserves are running low and a storm starts to brew outside, making Liu Chang Jian’s seemingly impossible task that bit harder. Pandemonium breaks out among the passengers, but the lead flight attendant Bin Nan (Yuan Quan) is determined to calm their nerves and make them place their trust in her, the crew...and the captain.

After the death of her older sister, Yuan Zhilan (Deng En Xi), Yuan Zhihua (Zhou Xun) is left with nothing more than a letter and an invitation to her sister’s 30-year high school reunion. Deciding to attend the reunion in her sister’s stead, Zhihua runs into Yin Chuan (Qin Hao), a currently struggling novelist and the boy on whom Zhihua once harbored a secret crush. With her older sister always stealing the spotlight, Yin Chuan had never bothered to pay much attention to Zhihua, until now.

Connecting with Yin Chuan in a way she never could in high school, Zhihua begins a series of correspondence with her childhood crush, all while pretending to be her deceased sister. As the two connect through old-fashioned letters, they begin to understand the underlying stories that brought each of them to where they are now.

As old memories are re-lived, new feelings are evoked, bringing hearts and lives together in ways neither of them could ever imagine.
