Guo Qi Lin is a Chinese actor. He was born on February 8, 1996 in Tianjin, China, and made his acting debut in 2018. Since then, he has appeared in a handful of films and television dramas, including “Joy of Life” (2019) and “Adoring” (2019).

A prosperous entrepreneur in modern-day China is undercut by a business partner, who tells him that he will have to take his revenge against him in another life – and then has him brutally beaten.

When he awakes, he has traveled back in time hundreds of years and now inhabits the body of a young man named Ning Yi (Guo Qi Lin).

He soon discovers that he is engaged to be married into the family of a successful cloth merchant. He also learns that he will become a matrilocal husband, which will mean he must live with his wife’s family, rather than the other way around, as per traditional Confucian custom.

The year is 1949 and China is in the final stages of a bloody civil war. The People’s Liberation Army knows that a final decisive push in the Battle of Pingjin will see much of Northern China fall under communist control. But the Nationalist Government forces are dug in deep, with a 500,000-strong force, and will not give in without a struggle.

While the main battle rages, a human drama is also unfurling, and a senior Nationalist army soldier named Yao Zhe (Wallace Chung) in Peiping (modern-day Beijing) is charged with ensuring the safety of the soldiers’ dependents.
