Wang Qian Yuan is an award-winning Chinese actor. He was born in Shenyang, Liaoning, China, on June 27, 1972 and made his acting debut in 1994. Since then, he has appeared in numerous films and television dramas, including “Run For Love” (2016).

In the early 90’s, a deadly group of criminals known as the Eagle Gang ran rampant throughout China, robbing banks, jewelry shops, and high-end luxury stores, laying waste to anyone who tried to stop them. Led by the sociopathic gangster, Zhang Xun (Daniel Wu), codenamed “Falcon”, this well-trained and utterly ruthless organization became notorious for the devastation they left in their wake.

On his first day as captain of the new criminal investigation bureau, Zhong Chen (Wang Qian Yuan) finds himself caught up in Falcon’s latest heist. In what could easily be considered the worst first day in history, the Eagle Gang takes the new captain hostage, eventually dumping his battered body on the side of the road. But the dedicated detective still has enough wits about him to leave Falcon with a little parting gift. With a foul taste left in his mouth, Zhong Chen vows he will not rest until Falcon and his gang are brought to justice. But the pursuit of this notorious gang proves to be anything but easy.

For the better part of a decade, Zhong Chen and Falcon remain locked in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse; but luck on both sides has started to run very thin, leaving both to wonder, which side will prevail when the luck runs out?

Loosely based on a series of crimes that rocked China in the 1990’s, “Caught in Time” is a 2020 action crime film written and directed by Ho Leung Lau.

In 1937, shortly after the start of the Second Sino-Japanese War, the Imperial Japanese Army invaded Shanghai. After more than three months of brutal fighting, the Japanese army showed no signs of weakening. Suffering heavy losses, the Chinese army was forced to make an impossible decision: retreat and lose the city, or stay and risk being entirely overrun.&nbsp;

In an act of unprecedented bravery, Lieutenant Colonel Xie Jin Yuan (Du Chun) of the 524th Regiment, of the poorly equipped 88th Division of the National Revolutionary Army, led 452 young officers and soldiers into battle. Knowing their mission would undoubtedly fail, the brave young men followed their Lieutenant Colonel to the Sihang Warehouse. There they made their last stand against the 3rd Imperial Japanese Division, a division consisting of nearly 20,000 troops. Against impossible odds, these 400 soldiers held out against the relentless Japanese army for four days, providing the rest of the Chinese army the time they needed to retreat.

Though these brave men ultimately lost the battle, their stand at the Sihang Warehouse would bolster the morale of the Chinese army and earn them a place in history as legendary heroes.

Based on actual events, “The Eight Hundred” is a 2020 historical war film directed by Guan Hu.

In a compilation of seven short films, seven directors explore the history of modern China and its people, going back to the 1940s and the aftermath of World War II, on the eve of the birth of the People’s Republic of China, through to the 1960s, the 1980s, the 1990s, and finally the 2010s, with stars like Song Jia and Ou Hao making appearances.

The first film focuses on an engineer struggling to organize a ceremony to mark the birth of the nation and the second tells the story of a love-sick nuclear scientist. In the third film, a young boy does what he can to help his neighborhood watch the gold medal match of the women’s volleyball competition in the 1984 Olympic Games.

The remaining films focus on more recent events, including two groups of people preparing for the handover of Hong Kong by the British colonial government in 1997. There is another Olympic story in a film about events surrounding the 2008 Olympics, which were held in Beijing, as a taxi driver decides to gift a ticket he had bought for his own son to another boy.

In the sixth film, two homeless boys watch a spectacular space mission in the 2010s. And in the final film, a female air force pilot attempts to ensure that a military parade to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second Sino-Japanese War goes off without a hitch

“My People, My Country” is a 2019 Chinese movie that was directed by Chen Kai Ge,&nbsp;Zhang Yi Bai,&nbsp;Guan Hu,&nbsp;Xue Xiao Lu,&nbsp;Xu Zheng,&nbsp;Ning Hao, and Wen Mu Ye.

Struggling to find any sort of break in their flailing careers, a squad of down-on-their-luck detectives are tasked with bringing down a narcotics kingpin known only as The General. A decrepit place run by a man not wholly in his right mind, the detectives manage to raise enough money to buy the restaurant, clean it up, and use it as a front while they observe the nearby drug lord. Opening the restaurant under the guise of a local family business, the detectives are wholly unprepared for the restaurant's overnight success. With Neng Shu having once dreamed of becoming a chef, his spicy crayfish recipe draws not only an overwhelming number of customers, but it entices the drug lord’s cronies as well.&nbsp;

Now in daily contact with the criminals they’re watching, the four detectives soon discover their target is only one player in a much larger game. Determined to bring the whole operation down, the detectives set out to do just that but are they really prepared for what lies ahead?

A humorous tale of crustaceans and crime, “Lobster Cop” is a 2018 crime comedy film directed by Li Xin Yun.

The year is 1627, and China is in the last days of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The young Emperor has decided that he must wipe out the powerful eunuch Wei (Chin Shi Chieh) and do away with his supporters. Three warriors and firm friends, part of a secret order of Imperial Assassins, step up to the challenge. They are the mysterious Lian (Chang Chen), the promotion-chasing Jian Xing (Wang Qian Yuan), and a young man with a troubling medical ailment named Yi Chuan (Li Dong Xue).

But although their assignment to kill the eunuch appears straightforward at first, the further along the trio progresses with their quest, the more they realize that conspiracies abound at every turn. The past is also catching up with them, and the secrets they hide from one another also threaten to complicate matters.
