Hio Miyazawa is a Japanese model and actor. He was born on April 24, 1994, in San Francisco, California, but was raised in Tokyo, Japan. He made his debut as a model in 2015 and took his first acting role in 2017. Since then, he has appeared in a variety of films and television dramas, including “His” (2020).

Meeting on the banks of a moonlit river, Satsuki (Nana Komatsu) and Hitoshi (Hio Miyazawa) couldn’t have planned a more romantic meet-cute. As if made for each other, the two quickly fall in love, their relationship so perfect, it seems almost too good to be real. Madly in love with his new girlfriend, Hitoshi can’t wait to introduce Satsuki to his little brother, Hiiragi (Himi Sato) and his brother’s girlfriend, Yumiko (Nana Nakahara), a girl with a slight obsession with the paranormal. Instantly hitting it off, the four enjoy an almost unnatural happiness. Unfortunately that happiness doesn’t last long.

Involved in a lethal traffic accident, Satsuki and Hiiragi are forced to say goodbye to Hitoshi and Yumiko forever. Overwhelmed by both guilt and grief, the two survivors have no choice but to find a way to move on; but letting go of those you love most is easier said than done. Sinking deeper into a depression that drives them both to the brink, only the sudden appearance of a mysterious woman who seems to walk between this world and the next, can bring them back.&nbsp;

Dangling the prospect of reuniting with their lost loves before them, Satsuki and Hiiragi follow where the mysterious Urara (Asami Usuda) leads. But will she make good on her promises to reunite them with their lost loves or lead them down a path from which there is no escape?

Based on the 1988 short story by Banana Yoshimoto, “Moonlight Shadow” is a 2021 drama film directed by Edmund Yeo.

As first year high school students, it didn’t take long for Shun Igawa (Hio Miyazawa) and Nagisa Hibino (Kisetsu Fujiwara) to become fast friends. Practically inseparable from the moment they met, the two friends quickly realized that the feelings they had for each other reached far beyond the boundaries of platonic friendship. From high school to university, the relationship between the two friends naturally blossomed into something beautiful. Unfortunately, their relationship wasn’t meant to last. Just before Shun’s university graduation, Nagisa announces that he can no longer see a future in which they are together. Leaving Shun heartbroken and alone, Nagisa cuts all ties with his friend and disappears completely.

With no choice but to move on, Shun does exactly that. Leaving the city behind him, Shun moves to the countryside and opens his own shop. A loner through and through, Shun turns all of his attention to this work, eventually finding peace in his solitary country life. But that peace is shattered when, years after walking out of his life, Nagisa unexpectedly returns with his six-year-old daughter, Sora (Sakura Sotomura), in tow. Unable to turn Nagisa away, Shun welcomes his estranged friend and his daughter into his life.

Now a part of each other’s lives once again, the feelings Shun and Nagisa once shared begin to resurface. Can a love once rejected bloom again or have both men missed their chance to find a happily ever after?

A touching love story, “His” is a 2020 romance film directed by Rikiya Imaizumi.
