Danny Glover is an American actor and activist who was born on July 22, 1946, in San Francisco, California. He graduated from the American Conservatory Theater and made his acting debut in 1979, appearing in the TV series “B.J. and the Bear,” as well as the movie “Escape from Alcatraz,” where he starred alongside Clint Eastwood. He shot to fame when he played the character Roger Murtaugh in the movie “Lethal Weapon” in 1987 – a film that spawned three sequels that he also starred in, alongside Mel Gibson. He was also the protagonist in the movie “Predator 2” (1990), and appeared in the films “Angels in the Outfield” (1994) and “Operation Dumbo Drop” (1995) – as well as the more recent “Jumanji: The Next Level” (2019).

Her ground-breaking stance on issues such as feminism and politics galvanized generations of Americans of all ages. And as she grew older, she continued to embrace a number of new socially significant causes. The filmmaker Grace Lee follows her over a period of around a decade, tracing some of her most remarkable achievements including the founding of Detroit Summer, a youth-focused organization that attempted to bring about beneficial social change in Detroit.

Now an elderly woman in the autumn of her life, the director follows Grace Lee Boggs as she interacts with a range of notable individuals, including the Hollywood actor Danny Glover, fellow activist Shea Howell, and the rapper Invincible – also taking the time to delve into the archive with footage of Grace Lee Boggs’ historic achievements, and provide evidence of how the thinker’s beliefs have changed over time.
