Wu Chen Xu is an actor who was born in Hong Kong on December 20, 1999. He studied at the Department of Philosophy at the Hong Kong Baptist University. He first made a mark in the acting and singing scene with a role in the 2019 series “Please Love Me,” for which he also contributed a soundtrack song. He has since gone on to appear in the 2020 title “Flower Detective” and the 2021 drama series “Detective Kong,” where he played one of the three main characters. More recently, he appeared in the dramas “Love Behind the Melody” (2022) and “My Marvellous Fable” in 2023.

As a talented pipa player, Li Sa Sa (Bao Shang En) has performed on many different stages. But when, during one of her performances, she finds herself magically transported into the Sheng Dynasty, she finds herself taking the spotlight on the most unlikely stage of all.

Waking in the Sheng Dynasty, she now inhabits the body of Li Ru Niang, a woman who had also been a talented player of the pipa. Completely lost in this new world, Sa Sa aimlessly wanders the streets of Shangjing until she happens to cross paths with Lu Jing Nian (Wu Chong Xuan), the head of a musical sect known as the Right Sect Fang. Joining the group in their shared love of music, Sa Sa quickly settles in as a member of the group. In the period between the last days of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) and the early Republic of China (1912-1949), China is in turmoil. The forces of modernity and antiquity are slowly starting to come together, but the land is full to bursting point with sorcerers, conjurers, necromancers, and the like. Most of these, however, are nothing but charlatans and con artists. Enter Kong Xue Li (Zhang Yu Jian), a budding young policeman, and Fang Dong (Wu Cheng Xu), a keen-minded coroner. This duo has become myth-busting hoax detectives, using their wits and knowledge of contemporary science to expose scammers for what they really are and show that what many people mistakenly believe are supernatural spirits are actually smoke-and-mirror tricks from con artists.

But when what at first glance seems to be the powers of darkness threaten to bring terror and death to the residents of a city, the duo must step up their crime-fighting activities. Things get a little more interesting for Kong Xue Li, too, when he meets a sassy and beautiful no-nonsense restaurant owner (Liang Jie). Can this trio put an end to the violence and ghoulish terror that has the city in its grips?

He Qiao Yan (Wei Zhe Ming) is the superbly intelligent CEO of a powerful conglomerate – a title he inherited from his affluent family. He has no real sense of empathy, however, and understanding human relationships appears to be beyond him. He also struggles to express his emotions – and sees the world in a very straightforward manner. This causes no end of complications at home: He is the single father of a young son named Xiao Bao (Lennon Sun). While he loves this boy very much, he has no idea how to control or discipline a child.

The situation is starting to get out of hand. But when He Qiao Yan and Xiao Bao meet the child psychologist Qin Yi Yue (Hu Yi Xuan), relief may be at hand. She is a natural with the child, and He Qiao Yan quickly realizes that she could provide him with a solution. He offers her a huge sum of money if she will become the boy’s “contract mother.” She agrees and the arrangement gets off to a good start. But things get complicated again when He Qiao Yan begins to develop feelings for Qin Yi Yue. Will his emotional and romantic ineptitude scupper his chance at love? Or will Cupid come to his aid?
