Kanata Hosoda is a Japanese actor. He was born on December 12, 2001 and made his acting debut in 2016. Since then, he has appeared in a variety of films and television dramas, including “Cool Boys Only High” (2022).

In many ways, Minami Gakuen is just like any other high school. It has a variety of classes, sports teams and clubs, and offers all of the other usual high school experiences. But none of these things makes the school stand out in any way. Neither a rigorous preparatory school nor a famed sports powerhouse, Minami Gakuen has nothing exemplary to offer potential students, and yet the school has still managed to garner a rather unique reputation.

With an unusually high rate of handsome young men in attendance, Minami Gakuen is known far and wide for its overwhelmingly handsome student body. A regular participant in the National Selected Handsome Tournament, the school is poised to take the title of champion once again. However, not all students at Minami Gakuen fall under the category of handsome. Among the more ordinary students is Ryoma Ikeda (Kanata Hosoda), an average student, with average grades and average looks, who considers himself to be one of the most unlucky people alive. Struggling to stand out in a school full of extraordinary people, Ryoma can’t wait for the day when he can leave his high school days behind him.&nbsp;

As the days leading up to the tournament steadily dwindle, Ryoma finds himself unexpectedly swept up in the commotion. But how can one ordinary high school student compete against an entire school of extraordinary people?

Challenging the ideas of beauty and popularity, “Cool Boys Only High” is a 2022 high school drama directed by Nozomi Karaki, Yosuke Goto, and Takashi Ninomiya.
