Yuki Katayama

Born and raised in Yamagata Prefecture, Hiroto Utsunomiya (Kaito Matsukura) has never experienced life in a big city. However, after the company he works for decides to transfer him to the Tokyo head office, Hiroto begins living away from home for the first time at the age of 25. When one of his new coworkers brings him to a bar, Hiroto meets Sone (Yuki Katayama), an eccentric older woman from Tokyo. Hiroto finds himself captivated by Sone, believing that this is the start of a fateful romance, and they spend the night together. Unfortunately, they part ways without exchanging contact information, and Hiroto and Sone are left to wonder if their encounter was just a fleeting moment in their lives, or if their one-night connection could ever mean something more. This drama was adapted from the manga of the same name by Chiaki Matsumoto.

Kanoko Urabe (Honoka Matsumoto) lives in a rural village with her mother in early Showa-era Japan. However, Kanoko's uncanny ability to detect lies has made her an outcast, resulting in her decision to leave to avoid further burdening her mother. Kanoko finds her way to the town of Tsukumoya, where she meets Soma Iwai (Ouji Suzuka), a young, debt-stricken detective who rescues her after she collapses from hunger. To Kanoko's surprise, Soma finds her lie-detecting skills impressive and useful, and he offers her a job as his assistant. Combining Soma's deductive reasoning skills and Kanoko's abilities, they begin investigating strange incidents and solving crimes – but as they spend more time together, they might develop a personal relationship, too.
