Kanoko finds her way to the town of Tsukumoya, where she meets Soma Iwai (Ouji Suzuka), a young, debt-stricken detective who rescues her after she collapses from hunger. To Kanoko's surprise, Soma finds her lie-detecting skills impressive and useful, and he offers her a job as his assistant.
