In a chance encounter, a Japanese military photographer asks postman Su Liu Chang (Liu Hao Ran) if he's able to develop photographs. Fearing for his life, Liu Chang lies, enlisting nearby photo studio owner Jin Cheng Zong (Lawrence Wang) to help. As Liu Chang and Cheng Zong develop the film, they realize that Japanese soldiers have been documenting their atrocities against the Chinese – and that much of the world knows nothing about this.
