High schooler Li Cu (Leo Wu) has his world turned upside down when he is recruited by experienced tomb raider Wu Xie (Qin Hao) – and whisked off to a deadly part of the Badain Jaran Desert.

The region is notorious: No explorer has ever returned alive. But Wu Xie resolves to unearth the secrets of the desert together with Li Cu and a band of hardy adventurers.

Wu Xie is not the only explorer keen to recruit Lu Ci. The high schooler's back is covered in mysterious markings that provide crucial clues on how to navigate the desert – and discover the lost treasure in the region's tombs.

As the explorers continue their quest, they must contend with a whole range of threats – including rival tomb raiders, fierce mummies, and more!

Hu Ba Yi (Lin Shen) is a treasure hunter from a long line of tomb raiders. While traveling with two fellow treasure hunters to the mountains of Gulan County, his gang encounters Shirley Yang (Kang Ning), another tomb raider. Hu Ba Yi recalls his grandfather telling him about Shirley Yang’s own grandfather. He is also intrigued by Shirley Yang’s explanation of how her grandfather once discovered the tomb of an Ancient Chinese princess in the mountains. Shirley Yang says she is headed to the tomb in an attempt to unearth the treasures buried therein. Hu Ba Yi and his friends decide to come with her.

But the trail is treacherous: Upon exploring a ghostly grave site, the explorers are confronted with a deadly giant spider. They manage to escape, but find they have been infected with some sort of curse. Shirley Yang’s grandfather made note of this curse in his diary – and also explained that there is only one way to lift it. This involves a journey to a haunted temple, which is supposedly guarded by the malicious Black Jade Demon King. Can the gang lift the curse in time? And will they find the treasure they have been searching for?

A fearless band of adventurers comprising Wu Xie (Bai Shu), Zhang Qi Ling (Zhao Dong Ze), and Wang Pang Zi (Zhang Bo Yu) has been reunited aboard a train en route to the Chinese border with North Korea. Deep in the mountains, in a frozen, rugged wasteland off-limits for many years, is a huge fearsome underground palace that is shrouded in secrecy – but is also thought to contain untold treasures. For Wu Xie, the quest to unveil the mysteries of the palace is personal and family-related. But divisions have formed within the group, and they soon find themselves at loggerheads with one another, despite their once-strong bond as the “iron triangle.”

When they arrive at the palace, they soon discover that the building is a maze of booby traps and other pitfalls. It has also become home to fearsome giant insects and brutally strong birds of prey that show a deep dislike for visitors invading their territory. To complicate matters further, a former ally named Ning (Zhao Rui Han) has also set her eyes on finding the prize before Wu Xie and his team – and has led a gang of international mercenaries to the palace, intent on stopping Wu Xie at all costs!

Obsessed with the legends of King Gesar, antique dealer Ming Shu (Kent Tong) would love nothing more than to possess relics from the time of that once-great king.
