These are some of my favorite memorable k-dramas that handle more realistic/mature themes or just standout for excellent storytelling in a way that would appeal to those of us k-drama fans that have outgrown the basic rom-com phase or are just looking for something with more dramatic meat to chew on. The genres vary but these dramas make them well worth the watch.
