Shi Hong (Zhang Lu Yi), a brilliant but introverted math teacher, secretly harbors feelings for his neighbor Chen Jing (Ruby Lin), a single mother. When her threatening ex-husband appears demanding money and becomes violent, a struggle results in his death. Shi Hong, who witnessed the incident, helps Chen Jing cover up the crime. However, his challenge intensifies when his former math prodigy classmate Tang Chuan (Wang Kai) is assigned as the detective investigating the case. As Tang Chuan begins to unravel the mystery, Shi Hong must use his exceptional intellectual skills to protect Chen Jing and her daughter from potential legal consequences. Based on Keigo Higashino's novel from the "Detective Galileo" series, this is a 2017 Chinese mystery film directed by Alec Su that explores the lengths one might go to protect those they love.
