Love in the Buff

Cherrie Yu (Miriam Yeung) and Jimmy Cheung (Shawn Yue) once met through a thick haze of cigarette smoke – they met in an outdoor smoking area after authorities in Hong Kong banned smoking indoors! Love bloomed, and they eventually tied the knot. And they thought they were going to live happily ever, but the devil takes the best-laid plans! Now, five months later, their marital bliss has deteriorated quickly. Jimmy’s career has changed, meaning he must now work in Beijing, and Cherrie is not happy about the idea of moving. Eventually, the couple decides to split up – with Jimmy moving to Beijing and Cherrie staying on in Hong Kong. They soon each find new flames, with Jimmy falling for a flight attendant and Cherrie beginning a relationship with a businessman. In a twist of fate, Cherrie’s company asks her to transfer to Beijing, and she ends up running into Jimmy by chance. Could love strike again for Jimmy and Cherrie? This movie is the second in a three-part trilogy that began in 2010 with “Love in a Puff,” and concluded in 2017 with the movie “Love off the Cuff.” “Love in the Buff” is a 2012 Hong Kong romantic comedy movie directed by Pang Ho Cheung.
