The Great Battle

In the mid-7th century, the Chinese Tang Emperor Taizong (Park Sung Woong) sees an opportunity to invade the Korean peninsula during a coup led by warlord Yeon (Yoo Oh Sung). After the assassination of Goguryeo's king, Taizong launches a massive invasion, easily conquering territories until he reaches the fortified city of Ansi. Military commander Yang Man Chung (Jo In Sung) leads the city's defense, refusing to surrender. With his sister Baek Ha (Seolhyun) and her female crossbow operators, and Sa Mool (Nam Joo Hyuk), a conflicted young officer, Man Chung rallies the citizens to resist the overwhelming Tang forces. As the Emperor personally leads the assault, Ansi becomes a symbol of hope, fighting desperately against one of the world's most powerful empires. This is a 2018 South Korean historical action film directed by Kim Kwang Shik.
