Jung Man (Bae Sung Woo) is a straight-living office worker who is down on his luck. He has already been declared bankrupt, and despite the fact that both he and his wife are working, they are now struggling to make ends meet. They have to care for his mother, whose health is deteriorating, as well as his daughter, whose application for a student loan has just been turned down. One fateful day, he comes across an abandoned designer bag in a sauna locker. He takes a look inside and is shocked to discover that it is stuffed to the brim with banknotes. Not sure what to do, he takes it to a storage room while he decides what to do with his discovery. However, a number of other individuals soon learn the secret of this mysterious bag – and plan to get their hands on it. These include a brothel madam named Yeon Hee (Jeon Do Yeon) and a customs agent named Tae Young (Jung Woo Sung), who needs to pay off a debt to a dangerous loan shark. “Beasts Clawing at Straws” is a 2020 South Korean movie directed by Kim Yong Hoon.
