Choi Hyun (Park Hae Il) is a South Korean university professor who lives in Beijing with his Chinese wife.
He is outwardly content with his life in China but takes an unconventional trip down memory lane when a childhood friend dies.
He returns to South Korea to attend the funeral and then takes a side trip to the city of Gyeongju, once a favorite haunt for him and his friends.
He decides to visit a café where he remembers he once saw an erotic piece of artwork when he visited with friends many years ago. However, he soon discovers that the café has since changed ownership and its new owner Yoon Hee (Shin Min Ah) has wallpapered over the picture.
He strikes up an unconventional friendship with Yoon Hee – and things get even more complicated when former college flame Yeo Jung (Yoon Jin Seo) comes to pay him a visit.
