An Ran (Sandra Ma), a Beijing Normal University student, desperately wants to attend a concert. When a handsome stranger, Qi Xiao (Wallace Huo), offers her a ticket, their chance encounter sparks an unforgettable connection in 1991. Years later, An Ran is a widowed talk show host living in California with her estranged daughter Yu Xiaonian (Vicky Chen). When Xiaonian returns to Beijing to care for her ill father, she discovers letters and photographs revealing An Ran and Qi Xiao's complex love story, which was disrupted by family obligations and societal constraints. As Xiaonian learns about her mother's past, she begins to understand An Ran differently, potentially healing their strained relationship. This is a 2019 Chinese romance film adapted from Rao Xueman's novel and directed by Wang Weiming.
