Sinopse

Growing up in a small town, Yun Xiao (Sandra Ma) has spent her entire life dreaming of what life might be like, living in a big city. Eternally bored with her small-town surroundings, Xiao finally decides she’s had enough and makes the decision to move. Ready to embrace the excitement of big city living, Xiao sets out with high hopes and big dreams. Unfortunately, life in the city turns out to be a lot less glamorous than she’d imagined and no matter how hard she tries, nothing seems to be going her way. At the same time Xiao is trying to settle into her new life, Li Mai (Zhong Chu Xi) is making plans to start a new life of her own. Setting off for Japan with her boyfriend, Mai has no regrets about leaving her old life as a dancer behind. But a tragic accident not only keeps her from moving forward, but prevents her from going back as well. Stuck in an endless loop of hopelessness, Mai is ready to give up on life, but something keeps holding her back. Working at a dancehall alongside a small-town girl by the name of Xiao, the two soon find themselves entangled with a desperate musician by the name of Wu Feng (Johnny Huang), who has had one too many run-ins with the local mob boss, Commander B (Wang Yan Hui).  Realizing the only way to escape their nightmare-ish lives is to leave the big city behind, Xiao, Mai, and Feng set out to do just that. But walking away could prove to be much easier said than done. A story of youthful hopes and dreams, “Wild Grass” is a 2020 life drama film directed by Xu Zhan Xiong.
