Shades of the Heart

Chang Seok (Yeon Woo Jin), a novelist returning to Seoul after seven years abroad, wanders the city's streets, blurring the lines between reality and fiction. During his journey, he encounters several intriguing strangers, including Sung Ha (Kim Sang Ho), a man who shares a mysterious story about a Buddhist monk, Mi Young (IU), a woman who claims to dislike novels, and Joo Eun (Lee Joo Young), a bartender who offers to "buy" his memories. As Chang Seok listens to their tales and shares his own, the boundaries between real life and storytelling become increasingly indistinct. This is a 2021 South Korean movie directed by Kim Jong Kwan that explores the intricate relationship between memory, narrative, and personal experience.
