Synopsis

In the age of globalization, Arthur (Matt Wu), a Parisian immigrant facing visa expiration, and Vivian (Huang Lu), a former actress, grapple with their relationship's future. Arthur hopes Vivian will join him as he prepares to leave Paris, but Vivian remains hesitant to compromise her career. Simultaneously, Amanda (Kris Wood-Bell), a new American step-mom, struggles to find her place in a Japanese family, while June (Sajee Apiwong) and Palm (Ananda Everingham) contemplate relocating from Bangkok to America. These three couples navigate complex emotional landscapes, each wrestling with questions of identity, belonging, and personal desires. Their interconnected stories explore the challenges of maintaining relationships and finding one's true home in an increasingly mobile world. This is an intelligent, touching exploration of human connection and displacement, a 2014 film written and directed by Rooth Tang.
