The Phone

Dong Ho (Son Hyun Joo) is a high-flying lawyer at a big-name legal firm. His wife Yeon Soo (Uhm Ji Won) is a kind-hearted medical professional who works at a busy hospital in Seoul. Dong Ho has decided to quit his job to take up a job as a pharmaceutical giant’s corporate lawyer. On the day he leaves his old job, his wife calls him and he decides not to answer so he can continue networking. But this appears to spark a series of tragic events, which eventually leads to his wife’s bloody murder in a robbery that goes horribly wrong. The police struggle to identify the killer, and Dong Ho, distraught, throws himself into his work. But when, a year later, he receives a phone call from his wife, who appears to be alive and well at the time of the call, he suddenly realizes that he has somehow traveled back to the past – to the very day of her murder. Dong Ho resolves to do what he can to try to prevent the murder...but could he already be too late? “The Phone” is a 2015 South Korean movie that was directed by Kim Bong Ju.
