Escape from Mogadishu

In 1991 Mogadishu, South Korean diplomats Ambassador Han Shin Sung (Kim Yun Seok) and intelligence agent Kang Dae Jin (Jo In Sung) are competing with North Korean diplomats led by Ambassador Rim Yong Su (Heo Joon Ho) to secure Somalia's support for UN membership. When violent protests erupt into a brutal civil war, both diplomatic groups find themselves trapped and cut off from their home countries. In a surprising turn of events, Rim Yong Su seeks refuge with the South Korean diplomats, forcing Han Shin Sung to make an unprecedented decision that could be considered treason. Facing armed militia and street chaos, the diplomats must work together to survive the dangerous conflict. This is a 2021 South Korean movie directed by Ryoo Seung Wan that explores unexpected cooperation in the midst of political tension and civil unrest.
