The Diary of Fireflies

Kai (Vo Dinh Hieu), a reclusive medical student haunted by his parents' cancer deaths, lives a miserable life until he meets Rin (Jun Vu), a vibrant and positive young woman. Despite his initial gloom, Kai falls in love with Rin, who hides a serious illness behind her cheerful personality and passion for photography. As their relationship blossoms, Rin's health deteriorates, leading to hospitalization. Kai becomes determined to support her through her illness, while Rin's previously estranged parents begin to reconcile for their daughter's sake. This is a 2016 Vietnamese movie directed by Van Cong Vien that explores love, loss, and hope in the face of terminal illness.
